John Foxworthy - Chief Editor/Co-Founder

I was born and raised in California. I picked up the guitar at age 5. Because my only musical exposure was to the stuff my parents listened to, My learning was mainly influenced by Country/Folk, most '70s Pop and Oldies. My first favorite band was The Knack when I got my first radio of my own I listened to radio stations like K-EARTH 101 and KIIS FM, both in L.A.  When I was 12 a cousin and I snuck off to see Van Halen in concert. Black Sabbath was on their last tour together (Never Say Die) and seeing these two bands left me with a burning desire to have an electric guitar. From there I mainly learned lead by listening to KLOS (L.A.) and playing my generic Les Paul over a DOD Distortion/Feedbacker and a Sears Silvertone amp to the likes of Ozzy, Dio, Motley Crue and RATT ... just to name a few. I was introduced to Iron Maiden in 1981 and became an instant fan. I collected everything Maiden (bootlegged or not) and became interested in a whole new genre .... HEAVY METAL! These days I listen to just about every style of music but still have a great respect for the older stuff. People who wanna know more about me can refer to the following list of stats:
