New York City-based indie rock band The Baghdaddios have signed on to perform a minimum of three concerts in support of the (Radical Records) release New York City Rock N Roll. This CD is comprised of songs by 22 NYC-based unsigned rock bands and compiled by NYC DJ and author Steve Blush.
Many of these bands have been touring the country, promoting the disc which was released on October 21, 2003, making appearances at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT and the Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA. Nationally-reknown recording artist Temptress performs as the headliner at most of these shows.
Baghdaddios lead singer, Kenn Rowell, was ecstatic over the group's selection for the tour. "Are you kidding? I've been all over the internet last night reading about Steve Blush! I was already well aware of Temptress as a national act to be reckoned with long before we played with them because I remember hearing them on the Howard Stern Show and thinking that they were pretty cool. But I had NO idea that Steve was also a critically-acclaimed author for his writing on the whole East Coast punk movement! The fact that we're now a part of the same tour isn't just a boost - it's an honor!".
The Baghdaddios will be performing with Temptress and others this Saturday, February 21, at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury, CT and then again next Thursday, February 26, at Rock'n Ricks in Limestone, NY and Friday, February 27 at the Rock & Roll Preserve in Utica, NY.
